My roommate made a good analogy- "I feel like a sheltered domestic cat being thrown out into the street, having to face the alley cats and honking traffic."

As I get thrown into new situations, day-by-day I am forced to come out of the shell I was once in, to be more proactive, to decide for myself the path forward.

Its hard to hard a balance between the old and the new- thinking sometimes maybe it would be nice to just fall back on the familiar awkward company. Now I feel more distant than before, my mind telling myself to stay safe, stay away, and stop the reminiscence.

Starting this term with a strong resilience I hope will not wade. I guess with the four terms of reflection I have come to realise that some things are worth letting go- opportunity costs and priorities. Hopefully I have become more clear-minded and hopefully I will stay focused in face of all the avalanches to come.
